Description

The Zarelli is an 800mm diameter, 12-light chandelier built from rectangular Spanish alabaster panels arranged in an interlocking band around a stainless steel frame finished in soft white and brass. The panels step in and out to form a serrated profile along the top and bottom edges, with a secondary cluster of panels suspended at the centre to anchor the composition. Twelve E14 lamps sit behind the alabaster, casting light through the stone rather than around it.

Sized for larger rooms with generous ceiling heights, the Zarelli suits formal dining rooms, double-height entrance halls, hotel lobbies and open-plan living areas. Total height is 680mm plus a 300mm drop rod, giving roughly 980mm of overall projection from the ceiling. The brass canopy fits a standard ceiling rose, and the rod can be shortened on installation where ceiling height is limited. Twelve E14 sockets allow brightness to be tuned by lamp choice rather than relying on a dimmer alone.

Each alabaster panel is cut from solid natural stone, so veining, mineral density and tonal variation differ across the assembly. Honed surfaces keep the internal structure of the stone visible, producing transitions between translucency and opacity as light passes through. The brass framework, fixings and central rod warm the cool white of the alabaster and pick up the natural ochre tones in the stone. The repetition of identical rectangular forms gives the fitting a disciplined geometry that reads as architectural rather than ornamental.

What bulbs does the Zarelli take?

The chandelier uses twelve E14 (small Edison screw) lamps, sold separately. Most users pair it with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K, which preserve the warm tone of the alabaster and brass without overheating the fitting.

What ceiling height is required?

Total drop is 980mm (680mm fitting plus 300mm rod). Allow at least 2.4m floor-to-ceiling height for the chandelier to sit clear of head height in a circulation area, or higher when installed over a dining table where the bottom of the fitting typically sits 700-800mm above the table surface.

Does the alabaster vary between panels?

Yes. Every panel is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual panels and between fittings. This is a feature of the natural stone, not a defect.

How is it cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe each panel gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth and dust the brass framework with the same. Avoid household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, and do not use damp or wet cloths on the stone surfaces.
