Description

The Zara is a single-light wall fitting with a decorative shade built from individually hand-welded square metal pieces in brushed steel, forming a mosaic pattern around the bulb. A translucent silver organza diffuser sits inside the metal outer shade, softening the light and preventing direct glare from the E14 bulb inside.

Designed for hallways, living rooms and bedroom feature walls where decorative accent lighting is needed, the Zara projects 102mm from the wall and measures 203mm square at the faceplate. The fitting accepts one E14 small Edison screw bulb up to 60W (sold separately), giving flexibility to choose LED, halogen or traditional candle bulbs depending on light output and colour temperature preference.

Each metal square is hand-welded onto the steel frame, so minor variation in spacing and alignment between individual units is normal and gives each fitting a slightly different shadow pattern when lit. The brushed steel finish reduces reflections compared to polished metal and pairs cleanly with contemporary and transitional interiors that use cooler metal tones. The organza inner shade diffuses approximately 30-40% of the light through the fabric, with the remainder escaping through the gaps between the welded metal pieces.

What bulb does the Zara take?

Is the metal shade fragile?

The individual metal squares are hand-welded onto a solid steel frame, giving the shade reasonable robustness for normal use. Avoid applying pressure directly to the mosaic pieces during cleaning or installation, as excessive force could dislodge a weld joint.

Does it need a specific type of wall for installation?

The fitting mounts to a standard UK back box on plasterboard, masonry or timber stud walls. The combined weight of the metal shade and organza diffuser is modest, so standard wall fixings are adequate.

How is the metal cleaned?

Wipe the brushed steel with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For fingerprints or marks, use a barely-damp cloth and dry immediately. Avoid abrasive cleaners or polishes that could alter the brushed finish.
