Description

The Zanzibar is a 322mm wall-mounted LED light with an integrated wireless phone charging platform, combining a frosted opal glass globe with a sand-white painted metal bracket. The 6W integrated LED inside the globe casts 470 lumens of warm 3000K light through the frosted glass, providing soft ambient light suitable for bedside use or hallway accent lighting. A touch switch on the upper surface of the bracket controls the light without needing a separate wall switch.

Designed for bedside installation, hotel rooms, and hallway feature positions, the Zanzibar replaces the traditional bedside table lamp and phone charging cable with a single wall-mounted fitting. The wireless charging pad sits on the horizontal bracket 178mm above the lower edge of the fitting, positioned to hold a phone at a comfortable height for bedside reach. The 120mm projection from the wall gives enough clearance to rest a phone on the pad without the device overhanging the edge.

The sand-white finish on the metal bracket provides a soft neutral tone that pairs with cream, beige, grey and natural wood interiors. The frosted opal globe sits above the bracket on a concealed mounting, creating the appearance that it floats independently. The 120° beam angle from the LED spreads light evenly across the wall and ceiling rather than creating a focused spotlight, making it suitable as ambient room lighting rather than task lighting for reading.

The wireless charger supports Qi-compatible devices (most iPhones from iPhone 8 onwards, Samsung Galaxy models, and other Qi-enabled smartphones). The charger activates when a compatible device is placed on the marked area of the bracket. The fitting weighs 1.45kg and requires fixing to a solid wall or stud rather than plasterboard alone.

Is the wireless charger compatible with all phones?

The charger supports Qi wireless charging, which covers most iPhones from iPhone 8 onwards, Samsung Galaxy models from the S6 onwards, and other Qi-enabled smartphones. Phones without built-in Qi support require a separate Qi receiver case or adapter.

Can the LED be dimmed?

No. The integrated 6W LED is not dimmable and operates at full output when the touch switch is activated. The warm 3000K colour temperature and frosted globe provide soft ambient light without the need for dimming in most bedside applications.

What fixing is required?

The fitting weighs 1.45kg and requires fixing to a solid wall or wall stud. If fixing to plasterboard, use cavity wall anchors rated for at least 2kg. The bracket mounts via a standard UK back plate connected to mains wiring, with the touch switch operating from low-voltage circuitry within the fitting.

Is it suitable for reading light?

The 470-lumen output and 120° beam angle provide ambient room lighting rather than focused task light for reading. For bedside reading, pair the Zanzibar with a separate adjustable reading light or use a table lamp on the bedside surface.
