Description

The Zanthe is a 100cm linear pendant built around a rectangular polished chrome frame filled with densely-packed clear glass rods. Ten G9 fittings sit inside the frame, distributing light along the 1m length. The glass rods diffuse and scatter the output, reducing glare while creating a soft glow across the entire fitting when lit.

Designed for kitchen islands and long dining tables, the Zanthe measures 100cm wide by 32cm deep and hangs on adjustable cables that allow drop heights between 62cm and 132cm from ceiling to canopy. This makes it suitable for standard 2.4m ceiling heights when positioned 70-80cm above a worktop or table surface. The rectangular form aligns naturally with island runs and rectangular dining tables, providing task light along the length rather than focused downlight from a single point.

The polished chrome frame provides a reflective metallic accent that pairs with stainless steel appliances, chrome taps and contemporary kitchen hardware. The clear glass rods create a vertical texture across the fitting that becomes more apparent when lit, as each rod catches and refracts light individually. At 14.3kg the fitting requires a secure ceiling joist or additional support beyond a standard plasterboard fixing. The ten G9 bulbs are sold separately, allowing choice of halogen or LED depending on desired brightness and colour temperature.

The fitting takes ten G9 capsule bulbs up to 33W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with G9 LED bulbs between 3-5W for energy efficiency, though halogen G9 bulbs are also compatible if higher output is needed.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, provided you use dimmable G9 bulbs and pair them with a compatible dimmer switch. The fitting itself supports dimming but the bulbs must be rated as dimmable for the function to work.

What ceiling height is needed?

The adjustable drop ranges from 62cm to 132cm. For a kitchen island or dining table the fitting typically sits 70-80cm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. Lower ceilings can still accommodate the Zanthe if the cables are shortened during installation.

How is the 14.3kg weight supported?

The fitting requires secure fixing into a ceiling joist or the use of appropriate cavity fixings rated for the weight. Standard plasterboard fixings are not sufficient. If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician during installation to ensure the ceiling can safely support the load.
