Description
The Yeldmoor with frosted glass is a die-cast outdoor wall light in brushed silver, measuring 208mm tall and 110mm wide with a 180mm projection. Frosted rather than clear glass is the point of difference: the light leaves the fitting diffused, so the up and down throw on the wall reads as a soft wash instead of a defined edge. The LED is integrated, so no lamp is needed. It weighs 0.8kg and is rated IP44, protected against splashing water from any direction, as an exterior wall light on an open elevation has to be.
We choose the frosted version where glare is the problem: beside a front door at eye level, along a low garden wall next to a seating area, or in a passage where a crisp beam would be uncomfortable to walk into. It suits contemporary houses and holds up well against smooth render, painted brick and timber cladding. Mounted in a run it gives an even rhythm of light along a boundary without turning the garden into a floodlit space. As with any outdoor wall light, position it so the throw lands on the ground people actually walk on.
The housing is die-cast metal in a brushed silver finish with frosted glass, built for permanent exterior mounting. Construction is Class 1, so it needs an earth connection and should be installed by a qualified electrician who will check the seal and the cable entry. Clean it with the circuit isolated: a soft damp cloth on glass and body, then dry it off. Homes near the coast should rinse salt residue away with clean water occasionally. The Yeldmoor is also made with clear glass and in brushed gold, so front, side and back of a house can be kept consistent.

Frequently Asked
Is it made for outdoor use?
Yes. It carries an IP44 rating, meaning protection against splashing water from any direction, so rain on an exposed wall is not an issue.
What difference does frosted glass make?
It diffuses the output. The light leaves as a soft wash up and down the wall rather than a sharp edged beam, which is easier on the eye at close range.
Do I need to buy a bulb?
No. The LED is integrated into the fitting, so there is nothing extra to order and no lamp to change behind sealed glass.
What is the body made of?
Die-cast metal with a brushed silver finish and frosted glass. Die-cast housings are used outdoors because they stay rigid and take a weather resistant finish.
How do I clean it?
Isolate the circuit first, then wipe glass and body with a soft damp cloth and dry it. Near the sea, an occasional fresh water rinse keeps salt off the finish.
Does it need earthing?
Yes, it is Class 1, so an earth connection is required. Have a qualified electrician carry out the installation.
