Description
The Yeldmoor is a die-cast outdoor wall light with a brushed silver body and clear glass, built to sit close to the wall and throw light both up and down it. It stands 208mm tall and 110mm wide with a 180mm projection, which keeps it clear of a door frame or a narrow path. Lighting is integrated LED, so there is no separate lamp to buy or replace, and the fitting weighs 0.8kg. It is rated IP44, meaning it is protected against splashing water from any direction, which is what an exterior wall light needs on a weather facing elevation.
This is the sort of outdoor wall light we would fit either side of a front door, along a garden wall, beside a garage, or down a side passage where the light needs to reach the ground without dazzling anyone walking through. Mounted in pairs it gives rhythm to a long wall, and mounted singly beside a door it marks the entrance and lights the step. Clear glass keeps the output crisp rather than diffuse, so shadows stay defined and brickwork or render shows its texture. It suits modern houses, and brushed silver reads well against grey and white render.
The housing is die-cast metal in a brushed silver finish with clear glass, a build meant for outdoor use rather than an indoor fitting pressed into service. Construction is Class 1, so it needs an earth connection and a qualified electrician to install it and check the seals are properly seated. Keep the glass clean with a soft damp cloth, and near the coast rinse salt residue off the body now and then to keep the finish looking right for longer. The Yeldmoor also comes in brushed gold, and with frosted glass if you would rather soften the output, so a whole exterior can be kept consistent.

Frequently Asked
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
Yes. It is rated IP44, which means protection against splashing water from any direction, so it copes with rain on an exposed wall as well as a sheltered porch.
Does it need a bulb?
No. The LED is integrated into the fitting, so there is nothing to buy separately and no lamp holder to reach into once it is mounted outside.
What is it made of?
A die-cast metal housing in a brushed silver finish, with clear glass. Die-cast bodies are chosen for exterior use because they hold their shape and take a weatherproof finish well.
How do I clean it?
Switch off at the circuit first. Wipe the glass and body with a soft damp cloth, then dry it. Within a few miles of the sea, a plain water rinse now and then keeps salt off the finish.
How far does it project from the wall?
180mm, on a body 208mm tall and 110mm wide. That is shallow enough for a narrow path or a passage where a deeper lantern would be in the way.
Does it need an earth connection?
Yes, it is Class 1, so an earth is required. This is one to hand to a qualified electrician rather than to fit yourself.
