Description

The Yarmouth is a 3 light wall light built around a curved frame finished in painted aged brass, with three E14 candle bulb holders arranged vertically inside an open lantern-style housing. The frame features arching top and bottom rails that create a tapered profile, and the square-section arms are turned at the joints to give a hand-forged appearance.

Designed for hallways, landings and stairwells where wall space allows a 318mm wide fitting, the Yarmouth projects 143mm from the wall and stands 384mm tall, providing vertical accent lighting rather than directional task light. The open sides allow light to spill laterally along the wall and into the room, making it effective in spaces up to 4m wide where a single wall light needs to reach beyond its immediate position. The three bulbs provide enough combined output for ambient lighting in a medium-sized hallway when paired with warm-white E14 candle bulbs.

The painted aged brass finish gives a warmer, less reflective tone than polished brass or antique brass, with visible brush marks in the paint application that create texture under side lighting. The finish pairs with both traditional joinery and warmer contemporary interiors where brass accents are used alongside greys or off-whites. The lantern housing references traditional carriage lamps but without glass panels, allowing unobstructed light distribution and simpler bulb replacement.

What bulbs does it take?

The Yarmouth takes three E14 small Edison screw candle bulbs, each up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with 4-6W LED candle bulbs in 2700K warm white to achieve ambient hallway lighting.

Can it be dimmed?

Dimming depends on the bulbs used and the dimmer switch installed. LED-compatible dimmers are required for LED bulbs. The fitting itself has no integrated dimming function, so compatibility is determined by the bulb and wall switch combination.

What's the difference between painted aged brass and antique brass?

Painted aged brass has a matte, textured finish with visible brush marks and a warmer, less reflective appearance. Antique brass typically has a darker patina with more contrast between highlights and recesses. The painted finish on the Yarmouth is lighter and more uniform in tone.

Is it suitable for outdoor use?
