Description
The Yaiza is a 36cm-tall table lamp built around a teardrop-shaped shade woven from natural paper rope in a loose diagonal lattice pattern, set on a circular wood base. The shade's open weave allows direct light to escape through the gaps while the paper fibres diffuse the rest, creating a mix of focused beam and soft ambient glow. An E27 bulb sits inside the shade (sold separately).
Designed for bedside tables, side tables in living rooms, and window ledges where decorative texture matters as much as the light output, the Yaiza suits boho, coastal and natural-fibre interiors. The 31cm diameter footprint fits typical bedside tables without overhanging, and the 900lm output from a standard E27 LED gives enough light for reading when paired with a warm-white bulb between 2700K-3000K.
The paper rope is woven by hand, so the density and pattern vary slightly between individual lamps. The natural beige tone of the untreated paper rope darkens gradually under UV exposure and artificial light over several years, shifting from pale straw to deeper tan. The wood base is left unfinished and shows natural grain variation depending on the timber section used. At 1.3kg the lamp has enough weight to stay stable on a bedside table without needing to be anchored.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does it take?
The Yaiza uses a standard E27 bulb up to 20W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for bedside reading or ambient light.
Is it suitable for bathrooms?
No. The IP20 rating means the lamp is designed for dry indoor environments only. Paper rope absorbs moisture and the Class 2 electrical classification is not safe for bathroom zones.
Does the paper rope vary between lamps?
Yes. Each shade is hand-woven, so the weave density and pattern differ slightly between individual lamps. The natural beige paper rope also darkens gradually under light and UV exposure, shifting from pale straw to deeper tan over several years.
How is the shade cleaned?
Dust the woven shade gently with a soft brush or dry microfibre cloth. Do not use water or household sprays, as paper rope absorbs moisture and can lose its shape or develop staining when wet.
