Description

The Wrinkle is a cream fabric lampshade with a crinkled texture, measuring 200mm diameter at the top, 300mm at the base, and 160mm in height. The fabric is deliberately creased during manufacture to create fine diagonal lines across the surface, which catch and diffuse light when the shade is fitted to a lamp. A lined inner surface prevents light bleed through the fabric and directs illumination downwards and outwards from the bulb.

Designed as a replacement or upgrade shade for table lamps and floor lamps with standard UK lamp holders, the Wrinkle fits both ES (E27) and BC (B22) fittings via the included reducer ring. The 300mm base diameter suits lamps with a base width of 180-250mm, while the 160mm height provides enough vertical clearance for bulbs up to 100mm in length. The cream tone warms incandescent and warm-white LED light, softening the output without tinting it noticeably yellow.

The crinkled texture gives the shade a textile presence that contrasts with flat drum shades and smooth empire shapes. At 220g the shade is light enough to fit onto existing lamp harps without overloading the mechanism, and the empire silhouette (wider base, narrower top) directs more light downwards than upwards, making it suitable for reading lamps and bedside positions where direct overhead glare is unwanted.

Will the crinkled texture flatten over time?

No. The crinkle is set into the fabric during manufacture and is permanent. The texture may soften slightly with handling but does not flatten out or lose its diagonal lined appearance.

How is the shade cleaned?

Use a soft brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner to remove dust from the crinkled surface, or wipe gently with a dry microfibre cloth. Avoid water or spray cleaners, as the fabric is not treated for moisture resistance and may stain.
