The fabric is deliberately creased during manufacture to create fine diagonal lines across the surface, which catch and diffuse light when the shade is fitted to a lamp. A lined inner surface prevents light bleed through the fabric and directs illumination downwards and outwards from the bulb.

Designed as a replacement or upgrade shade for table lamps and floor lamps with standard UK lamp holders, the Wrinkle fits both ES (E27) and BC (B22) fittings via the included reducer ring. The 300mm base diameter suits lamps with a base width of 180-250mm, while the 160mm height provides enough vertical clearance for bulbs up to 100mm in length.
