Description

The Worvarne is a square LED panel light for the ceiling, 50cm long and 50cm wide with a height of just 3.2cm, so it sits close to the ceiling as a slim, flat square. A black plastic frame borders a white plastic diffuser, giving a crisp outline against a pale ceiling. The light source is integrated LED producing 2,800lm, a good deal of light for one fitting. It is rated IP44, which means it is protected from splashing water, so it can go in a bathroom, where a qualified electrician will confirm the right zone.

Because the colour temperature adjusts from 2700K to 6500K, the same panel can give a warm, relaxed light in the evening and a cooler, crisper light for cooking, cleaning or getting ready in the morning. It is dimmable too, and a remote control comes in the box, so you can set the light from across the room. We think it suits hallways, kitchens, bathrooms and family rooms, and anyone who wants one ceiling light to cover several moods.

The panel is switched at the wall, and as a hard-wired mains light it is installed by a qualified electrician; the installation instructions come as a download. The LED and driver are not replaceable, so there is no bulb to change. It weighs 1.98KG, carries an energy class of D and runs at 220-240V, 50/60Hz. The remote takes a CR2032 battery. On the practical side, check the ceiling has a clear, flat area of at least 50cm by 50cm before you order, as the slim black frame looks best with an even margin of plain ceiling around it.
