The Wise is a 62mm diameter round recessed downlight with an integrated 7W LED delivering 3000K warm white light at 90 CRI. The black aluminium bezel frames a recessed reflector cone with a central LED module visible at the base, designed for flush ceiling installation in residential and commercial interiors.

Designed for rooms with ceiling voids of 70mm or deeper, the Wise fits standard downlight cut-outs and runs on AC 220-240V mains. The 90 CRI rating renders colours more accurately than typical 80 CRI downlights, which is useful in rooms where colour matching matters — bedrooms, dressing rooms, retail changing areas, and galleries. The 3000K colour temperature sits in the warm white range, producing a softer light than neutral or cool white alternatives.

The black finish on the aluminium bezel provides a discrete ceiling profile that recedes visually in dark ceilings and contrasts sharply in white ceilings depending on the desired effect. What ceiling void depth is required?

The Wise has a 70mm housing height, so a minimum 70mm ceiling void is needed for installation. Standard UK residential ceilings typically provide 100-150mm void depth between the plasterboard and the floor joists above.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The LED is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for approximately 25,000-30,000 hours of use, which is around 10-15 years of typical domestic operation before noticeable degradation.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating means the Wise is only suitable for dry interior locations. It cannot be used in bathroom zones 1 or 2 where water spray or steam is present. For bathrooms, an IP44 or IP65 rated downlight is required.

What does 90 CRI mean in practice?

CRI (Colour Rendering Index) measures how accurately a light source shows colours compared to natural daylight. A 90 CRI rating means colours appear more true-to-life than under typical 80 CRI LEDs, which is particularly noticeable with fabrics, skin tones, and painted surfaces.
