Description

The Wiressa is a linear pendant light built around a long brown beam held at each end in black steel brackets, with five E27 lamp holders set in a row along its underside. The body is wood and steel, and it hangs from a slim black ceiling canopy on two fine cables. It is 96cm long and 8.5cm wide, with an overall height of 110cm, so it reads as one clean line across a room rather than a cluster of separate shades. It is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in a dry room.

Its long, narrow shape suits spaces that run lengthways: a dining table, a kitchen island or the seating area of a living room, where five bulbs spread light along the whole length rather than pooling it in one spot. The warm brown grain against black gives it an industrial, rustic character that sits well in a loft-style living room or a country kitchen. Because the bulbs hang exposed beneath the beam, the lamps you choose become part of the look, so a decorative filament bulb makes the most of the design.

The bulbs are not included: the light takes five E27 bulbs at a maximum of 60W each and runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz. There is no switch on the light itself, as it is switched at the wall. As a hard-wired mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download.
