Description

An oval head on a flexible arm, finished in satin nickel, with a toggle switch on the base so the light is controlled where you reach for it. The LED is built in and draws 3W, giving a warm white 3000K output that sits close to a traditional filament in tone. The arm bends and holds, so the head can be aimed down onto a book or turned back towards the wall for a softer wash. Projection is 390mm at full extension, and the head itself is slim rather than bulky.

We reach for this one at bedsides, where a pair either side gives each person their own light without a lamp taking up the top of a cabinet. It also earns its place beside a reading chair, in a small study over a desk, or in a dressing area where you want light on your face rather than the back of your head. Output is fixed rather than dimmable, so treat it as task light with the on-off switch doing the work. It suits dry rooms indoors: bedrooms, landings, studies and box rooms.

The satin sheen is kept even across head, arm and base, so nothing on it flashes back at you when the light is on. Cleaning: keep it dry, dust the head and along the arm with a soft cloth, and leave polishes and solvents alone, as they will dull the finish over time. It carries a three year warranty. We stock the oval head in polished chrome and antique brass too, and there is a cylinder head version in the same finishes, which helps if you are mixing shapes in one room.
