Description

A small oval head sits on a flexible arm here, so the light can be aimed where you want it and re-aimed a moment later. The head is compact, the arm bends and holds, and a toggle switch on the base turns it on and off at the fitting. The LED is built in and gives a warm white light, close in tone to an old filament lamp, and it draws 3W. There is no dimming: one level, on or off.

We reach for this beside a bed, one each side of a headboard, where a reading light needs to point at a page and not at the person next to you. It works just as well over a desk, in a study alcove, beside a mirror in a dressing area or as a low pool of light in a hallway. The arm reaches out around 390mm from the wall, so it brings the light to you rather than washing the wall behind. Dry indoor rooms are its home, and we would keep it clear of bathroom zones and anywhere steam gathers.

The polished chrome finish is bright and mirror-like, and it sits happily alongside chrome switch plates and taps. Wipe the head and arm with a dry microfibre cloth when you dust; if fingerprints build up, a barely damp cloth and a quick dry afterwards will clear them, with the power off first. It carries a three year warranty. We stock the oval head in polished chrome, antique brass and satin nickel, and there is a cylinder head on the same flexible arm if you prefer a straighter, more tubular shape. The LED is integral, so there is no lamp to buy.
