Description

A neat oval head sits at the end of a flexible arm, so the light goes exactly where you point it and stays put. The head is 62mm across, which keeps the whole thing modest against the wall, and the arm reaches out to 390mm when you draw it forward. Light comes from an integrated LED drawing 3W, in a warm white that sits kindly against brass, timber and painted plaster. A toggle switch on the base turns it on and off at the fitting itself, so nothing else in the room needs to be switched first.

We would use a pair either side of a bed, where a small table has no room for a lamp, or none at all. It works just as well in a study beside a reading chair, in a narrow hallway for a low glow after dark, or angled onto a shelf of books. The output is gentle rather than broad, so think of it as reading and accent light working alongside a main fitting rather than lighting the whole room on its own. There is no dimming, which keeps things simple: the toggle does all the work.

The finish is antique brass, softened and gently darkened in the way that suits older houses and painted panelling. Keep it looking right with a dry duster and little else, as metal polishes and creams will scour an aged surface. The LED is built into the head, so there is nothing to unscrew and swap over the years of use ahead of it. It carries a three year warranty. We also stock this fitting in polished chrome and satin nickel, and there is a cylinder head version in the same three finishes if you would rather a straighter, more geometric outline on the wall.
