Description
The Windsor is a four-light crown-shaped chandelier with curved metal arms finished in gold patina, a central stem structure, and a circular metal band resembling a coronet. Each of the four upward-curving arms terminates in a candle-cup fitting that takes an E14 bulb (sold separately). Cut crystal droplets hang from the metal band, catching and refracting light from the bulbs above.
Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and living rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the chandelier hangs on a chain-and-canopy suspension that allows the drop to be adjusted during installation. The crown form references heraldic and royal British motifs, giving the fitting a traditional character that pairs with period properties, classical interiors, and Georgian or Victorian-influenced decoration. The four-bulb arrangement provides sufficient ambient light for a dining table seating four to six or a hallway up to approximately 12m².
Handcrafted in the UK by Elstead Lighting, the metal frame is finished in gold patina — a warmer, slightly antiqued tone that sits between polished brass and aged bronze. The finish shows subtle tonal variation across the surface, giving depth to the curved arms and central column. The crystal droplets are individually attached and faceted to catch candlelight or LED filament bulbs, adding movement and sparkle when the chandelier is lit or when air currents pass through the room.
Frequently Asked
What bulbs does it take?
The Windsor takes four E14 candle bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair it with warm-white LED candle bulbs rated 4-6W and 2700K to replicate traditional candlelight. Dimmable LED bulbs are compatible when used with a suitable trailing-edge LED dimmer.
What dimensions does it have?
The chandelier measures approximately 400mm in diameter and the drop from ceiling rose to the lowest point of the frame is adjustable via the chain. The crystal droplets extend slightly below the metal band, adding approximately 50mm to the overall drop.
Is it suitable for low ceilings?
The chandelier is designed for standard or high ceilings. In rooms with ceiling heights below 2.4m the drop can be shortened by removing links from the chain during installation, but the crown form and crystal droplets still require clearance of at least 2.1m from floor to the lowest point to avoid head strikes in circulation areas.
How is it cleaned?
Switch off and allow bulbs to cool fully. Dust the metal frame with a dry microfibre cloth. The crystal droplets can be wiped individually with a barely-damp cloth and distilled water, then buffed dry. Avoid household sprays or chemical cleaners on the gold patina finish as they may alter the surface tone.
