The Whistling is a 330mm diameter flush ceiling light with three E27 sockets housed inside a clear glass dome, mounted on a polished chrome frame with visible supporting arms. The chrome canopy sits 238mm proud of the ceiling, giving the fitting a semi-flush profile that works in bathrooms with ceiling heights of 2.2m or above where a true flush fitting would feel too recessed.

The IP44 rating protects against water splashes from any direction, making the Whistling suitable for installation in bathroom zones 2 and 3 — away from direct shower spray but within the general bathroom environment where moisture and humidity are present. The three E27 sockets accept standard bulbs up to 40W each (sold separately), allowing control over light temperature and brightness. Pair with warm-white LED bulbs at 2700K-3000K for softer bathroom lighting, or daylight bulbs at 4000K-5000K for task-focused illumination over a sink or vanity.

Where in the bathroom can this be installed?

The IP44 rating allows installation in bathroom zones 2 and 3, which covers most ceiling positions outside the immediate shower enclosure. It is not rated for installation directly above a shower head or bath where it would receive direct water spray.

What bulbs does it take?

The Whistling takes three E27 (Edison screw) bulbs up to 40W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with LED bulbs between 6-10W for energy efficiency. Choose warm white (2700K-3000K) for relaxed bathroom lighting or daylight (4000K-5000K) for task lighting over a sink.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

The fitting projects 238mm from the ceiling, so it works best in bathrooms with ceiling heights of 2.2m or above. In lower ceilings the fitting may feel visually heavy or intrude into headroom near doorways.

Can the chrome be cleaned with bathroom products?

Polished chrome can be cleaned with a damp microfibre cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners, bleach-based sprays or limescale removers as these can damage the chrome finish over time. Dry the chrome after cleaning to prevent water spots.
