Description

This layered wooden plaque sets a white glazed panel on a natural wood backing, with a soft grey line drawing of a house above the words "I'm EXACTLY where i NEED to be". A leafy sprig curls over the roof and two little potted plants stand either side of the front door, a gentle picture of feeling settled. The lettering mixes neat capitals with a looser handwritten script, so the words EXACTLY and NEED stand out as you read. The rectangular face measures 14.7cm on its longer side and 12.2cm on its shorter, and the plaque is 1.9cm deep, so it sits neatly in a small space.

It is a lovely way to mark a new home, whether it is your own first evening after moving in or a housewarming gift for someone who has just collected their keys. The sentiment works just as well as a birthday gift, a quiet reminder that where they are right now is exactly right. Because it stands on its own, it needs no nails in a freshly painted wall: set it on a shelf, a mantelpiece, a hallway console, a desk or a bedside table, wherever a calm word is welcome.

A fold-out support on the back holds the plaque upright, and the plain board behind keeps it tidy from every angle. The white panel has a glazed finish and sits slightly proud of the wooden backing, giving the piece its layered look. To keep it fresh, dust it with a soft dry cloth and wipe the panel with a barely damp cloth when needed, drying it straight after and keeping the wood away from standing water. We like it on a shelf beside a candle and a few dried stems, or wrapped with a handwritten card for someone settling in.
