Description

This square wooden coaster brings a cheerful, smiling touch to the table, with two cartoon cherries sharing one green stalk above the printed words "We're Cherry Sweet Together". The cherries are a bright red with happy little faces, a green leaf sits at the top of the stalk and a tiny red heart floats just beside them. The whole design is printed on a soft peach background framed by a fine red border, and the corners are gently rounded for a neat, friendly finish. It measures 10cm on each side and 0.9cm deep, a handy size for an everyday mug or a glass, and that depth gives it a pleasing, chunky feel. The back is plain peach, so it looks tidy whichever way it lands.

We think it makes a lovely Valentine's Day gift, the sort of small, thoughtful present that says a lot without any fuss, and the gentle play on words is sure to raise a smile. Once the day has passed it simply carries on being useful. On a desk it gives the morning coffee somewhere to sit, on a bedside table it holds a glass of water, and on a coffee table or kitchen table it adds a bright pop of red and peach among the everyday things.

The coaster is made of wood, with the design printed on its face and the peach colour carried through to the plain back. To keep it looking its best, wipe it over with a damp cloth and dry it straight away, or dust it with a soft dry cloth; as with any wooden piece, it is best not left sitting in water. For gifting, slip it into a small box with a Valentine's Day card, or wrap it up with a bar of chocolate for a sweet little bundle that will be used long after the day itself.
