The Wasmane is an LED table lamp made of two wavy arms, one taller than the other, that rise side by side from a flat rectangular base, all in black. The body is steel and plastic, and a white plastic diffuser runs the length of the inner arm over the integrated LEDs, so there is no bulb to buy or fit. It stands 45.5cm tall and gives 1,500lm of 4000K light from 12W. Its IP20 rating settles where it belongs: indoors and dry, so it suits a living room, bedroom or study rather than a bathroom or anywhere outdoors.

On a sideboard, a console table in the hallway or the corner of a desk, the twin curves give a plain surface a shape the eye follows even when the lamp is dark. Once lit, it earns its place: 1,500lm is a generous amount of light for a table lamp, enough for reading, desk work or a dark corner of the room. The 4000K colour temperature gives a neutral white, clear and crisp rather than warm and yellow, which suits a home office or a reading spot. The steel and plastic build keeps it light, at 0.64KG packed, so it is easy to move between rooms.
