Description

The Vonvena is an outdoor wall light with a rounded rectangular backplate in anthracite and a curved white diffuser, divided across its middle by a dark central band. It measures 35cm in height and 18cm in length, and it stands 9cm out from the wall, so it sits neat and close beside a door or along a path. The body is zinc-plated steel and the shade is white plastic. It takes two E27 bulbs of up to 10W each, and the bulbs are not included, which leaves the choice of light colour with you. It is rated IP44, which means it is protected against splashing water, so it can live outdoors on a house wall.

We would put it beside a front door, either side of a garage door or on a patio wall where you sit out on summer evenings. Its slim depth suits a narrow passage or side path, where a deeper light would get in the way. Anthracite is a deep charcoal grey that sits comfortably against white render, brick or timber, and the white diffuser gives a soft, even glow rather than a bare point of light. Thanks to the IP44 rating it can also be considered for a bathroom, where a qualified electrician will confirm the right zone.

The light has no switch of its own; it is switched at the wall, so it is controlled from a wall switch. It is a wired mains light running on 220-240V, 50/60Hz, and it should be installed by a qualified electrician. Zinc plating helps steel resist rust, which counts for a lot on an outside wall. Packed, it weighs 0.779KG, so it is easy to lift into place. The installation instructions are available as a download. Before fitting day, choose two E27 bulbs of 10W or less each.
