Description

The Vivienne is an 11-light crystal chandelier built on a 700mm-diameter French gold frame with multiple tiers of rectangular cut crystal prisms cascading from the central body. Each tier holds rows of crystals that catch and refract light from the eleven E14 bulbs positioned around the upper and middle rings. The French gold finish on the metalwork is a warm, soft gold tone that sits between polished brass and antique brass in reflectivity.

Designed for dual-mount installation, the Vivienne can be hung as a traditional chandelier on its adjustable chain (500mm minimum to 1950mm maximum drop) or fitted as a semi-flush ceiling light by removing the chain and mounting the canopy directly to the ceiling rose. This makes it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards — the semi-flush configuration works in lower-ceilinged dining rooms and bedrooms, while the pendant configuration suits hallways, staircases and double-height living spaces with 3m or higher ceilings.

The crystal prisms are individually hung on metal pins around the frame, creating a tiered waterfall effect when viewed from below. The eleven E14 bulbs (sold separately) are positioned behind the crystals, so the light refracts through the cut faces of each prism and casts patterns onto nearby walls and ceilings. The fixture weighs 13.65kg once assembled, requiring secure fixing to a joist or ceiling support capable of bearing that load. The French gold finish pairs with warm-toned interiors, classical furniture and traditional plasterwork, and also works in transitional schemes that mix period detail with contemporary furnishings.

Does it come with bulbs?

No. The Vivienne requires eleven E14 small Edison screw bulbs up to 20W each, sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K to complement the French gold finish.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, provided you fit dimmable E14 bulbs and connect the chandelier to a compatible dimmer switch. The fixture itself does not include dimming electronics — dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs and wall dimmer you choose.

What's the difference between pendant and semi-flush mounting?

The Vivienne ships with a chain and canopy for pendant installation, giving a minimum 500mm drop from ceiling to the top of the fixture. For semi-flush installation, you remove the chain and mount the canopy directly to the ceiling rose, bringing the fixture closer to the ceiling. This is useful in rooms with lower ceilings where a full pendant drop would sit too low.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Each crystal prism hangs on a metal pin and can be removed individually for cleaning. Wipe with a soft microfibre cloth, slightly dampened with distilled water if needed. Avoid spraying cleaners directly onto the fixture as this can damage the French gold finish on the metalwork.
