The Vivaldo is a gold pendant shaped as a burst of slender rods radiating from a small central sphere, with every rod tipped in clear brilliant glass. The body is steel with a gold plated finish, and it hangs on a fine chain from a round gold ceiling canopy. It measures 68cm across and 149cm high overall. Light comes from 21 G4 lamps of 1.2W each, with 100lm per light, so the glow is spread through the whole sphere rather than coming from one bright point. It is rated IP20, which settles where it lives: indoors, in a dry room.

We would hang it where people gather and linger: over a dining table, in a hallway or stairwell with a tall ceiling, or at the centre of a living room. The glass tips catch the light from the small lamps, so the whole sphere glitters whenever it is lit, and even unlit, the gold rods give the room a strong shape overhead.
