Description
The Villanova 1 is a lighting track in black aluminium: a straight length of rail 200cm long, 3cm wide and 2.2cm high. It has a slim, softly rounded profile with an open channel running its full length, and it forms the spine of a track lighting scheme, carrying light along a run rather than from a single point. The track has no lamp socket of its own. Its IP20 rating settles where it belongs: indoors, in a dry room.
That makes it a good fit for kitchens, living rooms, dining rooms, hallways, studies and home offices, anywhere you want to place light where it is needed rather than where the ceiling rose happens to be. Above a kitchen island or a long dining table, a 200cm run can follow its length in one tidy line. The black finish gives a crisp, graphic contrast against a pale ceiling or wall and sits comfortably in industrial, Scandinavian or modern interiors with dark metal accents. Because it is IP20, keep it away from bathrooms, outdoor spaces and anywhere it might meet splashing water.
The profile is aluminium, a metal that does not rust, finished in black, and the full 200cm length weighs 1.23KG. It runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains and has no switch of its own: it is switched at the wall, so the lights on it come on with the room's existing switch. As a wired-in mains fitting, it is installed by a qualified electrician. The installation instructions come as a download, so you and your electrician can read the fitting details before work begins. Plan where each light should sit along the run before the electrician arrives, and the rest of the scheme falls into place.

Frequently Asked
Can the Villanova 1 track go in a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20, which means indoors and dry only, so it belongs in rooms such as a living room, study or hallway, away from splashing water.
How long is the track?
The track is 200cm long, 3cm wide and 2.2cm high, and the full length weighs 1.23KG, so it stays slim and discreet overhead.
Does the track have its own lamp socket?
No, the track carries no lamp socket of its own; it is the rail at the heart of a track lighting scheme rather than a light in its own right.
How is the track switched?
It has no switch of its own. It is switched at the wall, so the existing wall switch in the room controls it.
What material is the track?
The track is aluminium in a black finish. Aluminium does not rust, and the black gives a crisp contrast against a pale ceiling or wall.
What voltage does the track need?
It runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains, the standard supply in UK homes, and the installation instructions come as a download.
