Description

The Vetro is a glass pendant light with a white satin glass dome, a softly waved rim and a printed floral border in purple and black. The shade is 42cm in diameter and the whole light is 110cm tall overall, hanging from a white plastic ceiling cup on a coiled rise-and-fall cord, with a white plastic holder sitting on top of the shade. It takes a single E27 bulb of up to 60W; the bulb is not included, so you choose the colour and brightness of light you prefer. Its IP20 rating settles where it goes: indoors, in a dry room.

This is a pendant made for the dining table. The rise-and-fall cord lets you bring the shade down low for a close pool of light over supper, then raise it again once the table is cleared, all by hand. Satin glass diffuses the light from the bulb, so the glow is soft rather than glaring. The floral print and waved edge suit a farmhouse kitchen, a cottage dining room or any traditional interior where a plain dome would feel too stark. There is no switch on the light itself: it is switched at the wall, so it simply works from the switch you already have.

The body parts are white plastic, from the ceiling cup to the holder, and a slim white loop hangs beneath the shade. The satin glass carries the purple and black pattern all the way around its rim. The light runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz. Because it is wired into the mains, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. Packed, it weighs 2.277KG. Ahead of installation, pick up an E27 bulb of no more than 60W, because the light arrives without one.
