Description

The Venus-1 is an outdoor wall light built from die-cast aluminium with a powder-coated anthracite finish and a curved white acrylic diffuser. The curved body directs light downwards through the diffuser, casting a controlled wash onto the wall below while protecting the E27 bulb fitting inside from direct water exposure. The IP44 rating provides protection against dust ingress and water splashes from any angle, making the fitting suitable for covered porches, patio walls, and exterior doorways where some weather protection exists.

Designed for modern and industrial-style exteriors, the Venus-1 mounts horizontally on the wall with visible fixing screws at each end of the curved body. The 250mm width and 120mm projection suit standard residential wall installations where the light needs to be noticed without dominating the facade. The anthracite finish sits between grey and black, giving a neutral tone that works with brick, render, timber cladding and painted masonry.

The die-cast aluminium construction resists corrosion and impact better than pressed steel alternatives, and the powder-coat finish is applied after casting to seal the metal surface. The white acrylic diffuser softens the light output and prevents glare from the bare bulb, while remaining thick enough to withstand moderate impact without cracking. The fitting accepts any standard E27 LED, CFL or filament bulb up to 60W (sold separately), and is dimmable when paired with a dimmable bulb and compatible dimmer circuit.

The IP44 rating protects against water splashes but not direct rainfall or jet washing. The Venus-1 is best suited to covered porches, under eaves, or recessed doorways where it receives some overhead protection. For fully exposed locations, consider a higher IP65-rated alternative.

What bulb should I use?

The fitting takes any standard E27 bulb up to 60W. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for exterior ambient lighting. Bulbs are sold separately.

Is the light dimmable?

Yes, when fitted with a dimmable bulb and connected to a compatible dimmer circuit. The fixture itself does not restrict dimming, but the bulb and circuit must both support it.

How is it mounted?

The Venus-1 mounts horizontally on the wall with two visible screws at each end of the curved body. The back plate sits flush to the wall and conceals the cable entry point. Standard wall plugs and screws are used for brick, block or timber-framed installations.
