Description

The Venize is a 26cm table lamp with a cylindrical smoked glass shade sitting on a satin black metal column base. The glass shade shows a gradient from near-clear at the top to darker smoke at the bottom, diffusing the light from an E27 bulb (sold separately) while leaving the filament partially visible through the upper section of the glass.

Designed for bedside tables, console tables and low shelving, the Venize provides ambient rather than task lighting. The 15cm diameter footprint suits typical nightstand widths of 40-50cm without dominating the surface. The smoked glass softens the light output, making it more comfortable for evening use in bedrooms or as accent lighting on sideboards and console tables in living rooms and hallways.

The satin black finish on the metal base is a low-sheen powder coat that resists fingerprints and pairs with both warm-toned and cool-toned contemporary interiors. The glass shade lifts off the base for bulb changes, and the gradient effect means the lamp looks different depending on whether the bulb is on or off — darker and more opaque when unlit, lighter and more translucent when the bulb is illuminated. At 0.79kg the lamp is light enough to move between rooms but weighted enough not to tip easily on a bedside table.

The lamp takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 20W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 4-8W warm-white LED or a decorative filament bulb to show through the smoked glass.

Can it be used as a reading lamp?

No. The smoked glass diffuses the light into ambient glow rather than directed task light. It suits bedside accent lighting or console table decoration, but a separate adjustable reading lamp would be needed for focused reading light.

Is the glass shade removable?

Yes. The glass shade lifts off the metal base for bulb changes. Handle the shade carefully as smoked glass can show fingerprints more visibly than clear glass.

What's the IP20 rating mean?

IP20 indicates the lamp is suitable for dry indoor environments only. It is not protected against moisture, so it should not be used in bathrooms, kitchens near sinks, or any outdoor or damp locations.
