Description

The Venize is a single-pendant light built around a cylindrical smoked glass shade, 15cm in diameter and 26cm tall, suspended on a black textile cable from a satin black ceiling canopy. The shade uses dual-layered smoked glass — an outer frosted layer over a tinted inner layer — which diffuses the light from a single E27 bulb (sold separately) into a soft ambient glow while maintaining the outline of the filament or LED element inside.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and living room focal points, the Venize works in interiors where task lighting is provided by other fittings and this pendant serves as accent or mood light. The adjustable cable allows the shade to hang between 40cm and 160cm from the ceiling, so it can be set 600-800mm above a worktop or dining surface in rooms with standard 2.4m ceilings, or raised higher in open-plan spaces with taller ceilings. The satin black canopy is 10cm in diameter and fits UK standard ceiling roses.

The smoked glass finish pairs well with darker cabinetry, exposed metal details and natural wood surfaces, creating visual continuity across industrial, mid-century and contemporary interiors. The cylindrical form gives a clean vertical line when hung, and the 0.95kg weight makes it suitable for plasterboard ceilings with a proper toggle or cavity fixing. The IP20 rating limits the Venize to dry indoor areas — it cannot be used in bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor canopies.

What bulb does the Venize take?

The pendant takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 20W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb at 4-8W and 2700K to emphasise the smoked glass diffusion effect.

Can the drop height be adjusted after installation?

Yes. The textile cable allows the pendant to be set anywhere between 40cm and 160cm from the ceiling during installation. Once the cable is trimmed and fixed, further adjustment requires re-wiring, so measure the intended drop carefully before final fitting.

Is the smoked glass opaque or see-through?

The glass is translucent, not opaque. You can see the outline of the bulb inside, particularly when lit, but the dual-layer frosted and tinted construction softens the light and blurs sharp edges. This makes decorative filament or vintage-style LED bulbs a good visual pairing.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating restricts the Venize to dry indoor areas only. It cannot be used in bathrooms, wet rooms, covered outdoor areas or anywhere moisture levels exceed normal domestic indoor conditions.
