Description

The Velos is a 24-light cluster pendant built around twenty-four spiral methacrylate shades suspended on fine cables from a 95cm rose-gold canopy. Each shade is moulded into a twist that refracts the light from an integrated LED core, creating layered reflections across the full 300cm installed height. The combined 120W LED output at 3000K runs through a single TRIAC/0-10V dimmer-compatible driver, controlled via an included RF remote.

Designed for tall double-height spaces such as hotel lobbies, entrance halls, stairwells and atriums with ceiling heights of 4-6m, the Velos fills vertical volume without requiring multiple fittings. The drop is adjustable between 160cm and 550cm on installation, allowing the cluster to be configured as a dense column or a more dispersed cloud depending on the ceiling height and spatial proportions. The 95cm canopy diameter requires a ceiling fixing point capable of supporting the 36.5kg total weight.

The methacrylate shades are micro-printed for clarity and cast a warm wash of refracted light across surrounding walls and floors when lit. The rose-gold finish on the canopy and cable fixings provides a warm metallic accent that pairs with both contemporary and classical interiors. The remote dimmer allows the output to be adjusted from full brightness for daytime reception areas down to low ambient glow for evening use, without requiring a wall-mounted dimmer switch.

Installation requires a qualified electrician due to the weight, height and electrical load. The canopy includes gravity toggle stabilisers to maintain level alignment once the cables are tensioned. The fitting is rated Class 1 and requires an earth connection.

What ceiling height is needed for the Velos?

The adjustable drop ranges from 160cm to 550cm, which suits ceiling heights between 4m and 6m. For lower ceilings the minimum 160cm drop still requires approximately 2.4m clearance below the canopy to avoid the pendant hanging too low.

How is the dimming controlled?

The integrated LED driver is compatible with TRIAC and 0-10V dimming protocols. An RF remote control is included, allowing dimming without a wall-mounted dimmer switch. The remote communicates directly with the driver inside the canopy.

What weight capacity is required at the ceiling fixing point?

The total weight is 36.5kg. The ceiling fixing point must be structurally capable of supporting this load, typically requiring a reinforced ceiling rose or joist-mounted bracket. Installation by a qualified electrician is required.

Can the cable lengths be adjusted after installation?

The cables are tensioned and locked during installation to set the drop height between 160cm and 550cm. Once installed and the canopy is wired in, adjusting the drop requires partial disassembly. Choose the final drop height during the initial fitting.
