Vellum Arc Floor Lamp - White

The Vellum is an arc floor lamp with a curved metal stem finished in satin white enamel, supporting a fabric conical shade that tilts and rotates to direct light where needed. The lamp accepts a single E27 bulb (sold separately) and provides focused task lighting or ambient wash depending on bulb choice and shade angle. The arc reaches 975mm from the base, allowing the shade to sit over a sofa arm, reading chair or bedside without the base occupying prime floor space.

Designed for reading corners, bedrooms and living rooms where overhead lighting is insufficient or absent, the Vellum positions light where fixed ceiling fittings cannot. The fabric shade diffuses bulb glare while the tilt mechanism lets the user angle light onto a book, laptop or work surface. The 470mm maximum projection from the stem gives clearance over furniture arms and side tables. The weighted circular base keeps the lamp stable when the shade is angled fully outward.

The satin white enamel finish has a low-sheen surface that reduces reflections under daylight and pairs cleanly with white walls, light timber floors and pastel-toned interiors. The fabric shade is a tight-weave cotton-blend in off-white, which softens the light output and creates a warmer tone than bare bulbs or metal reflectors. At approximately 1.65m total height with the shade tilted level, the Vellum suits rooms with standard 2.4m ceilings without visually crowding the space.

What bulb does the Vellum take?

The lamp accepts a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 6-10W LED in warm white (2700K-3000K) for reading, or a lower-wattage amber LED for ambient lighting.

Can the shade be adjusted?

Yes. The fabric shade tilts on a pivot joint, allowing it to be angled towards a reading position or upwards for indirect ambient light. The arc stem is fixed but the 975mm reach positions the shade over furniture without needing adjustment.

Is this suitable for low ceilings?

The total height with the shade level is approximately 1.65m, making it suitable for standard 2.4m UK ceiling heights. The arc design keeps the shade low enough to avoid visual crowding in rooms with ceilings down to 2.2m.
