Description

The Vellum is a 490mm table lamp built around a rectangular block of natural grey marble, flanked on one side by a vertical brushed brass panel and seated on a stepped brushed brass plinth. A slender brass stem rises from the top of the marble to carry a rectangular grey fabric shade, with an E27 lamp socket integrated into the top assembly. The combination of stone, brass and fabric gives a clear architectural profile in a compact 400 x 200mm footprint.

Designed for console tables, sideboards, hallway tables and bedside use, the Vellum suits placements where a directional rectangular shade works better than a round one — alongside a wall, behind a sofa, or paired symmetrically either side of a bed. The 490mm overall height puts the shade at typical reading level when used on a 450-500mm bedside table, and the rectangular form sits flush against a wall without the wasted space of a circular base.

Each marble block carries its own veining and tonal variation, so no two pieces look identical. The stone's matt surface contrasts with the satin sheen of the brass plinth and side panel, while the grey fabric shade picks up the cooler tones in the marble and softens the metallic edges. The stepped plinth projects slightly beyond the marble footprint, giving the lamp a defined visual base rather than letting the stone meet the table directly.
