Description

The Velas is a 50cm sculptural LED table lamp built around a vertical matte gold column with a curved translucent diffuser made from micro-printed methacrylate. The diffuser wraps around the central axis in a ribbon-like form, allowing the integrated 8.5W 3000K LED to cast 470 lumens of diffused ambient light through the translucent material.

Designed for console tables, sideboards and bedside surfaces where vertical dimension adds visual interest without taking up significant floor space, the Velas works in rooms where both ambient lighting and a sculptural presence are needed. The 18cm diameter base provides stability on most flat surfaces, and the 1.6kg weight keeps the lamp secure without requiring anchoring. The matte gold finish on the metal frame pairs with warm-toned contemporary interiors, and the soft glow through the methacrylate diffuser creates indirect lighting that reduces glare.

From Spanish manufacturer Schuller, the Velas combines formed metal construction with the curved methacrylate diffuser, which is micro-printed to control light scatter and give a consistent glow along the full height of the lamp. The 24V low-voltage LED runs on a mains transformer (included) and is rated IP20 for dry indoor use only. The Class 3 electrical rating means the lamp operates at extra-low voltage for additional safety in residential settings.

The integrated LED operates on a 24V transformer. Dimmer compatibility depends on the transformer specification — contact us to confirm if dimming is supported before pairing with a mains dimmer.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The Velas carries an IP20 rating, meaning it is suitable for dry indoor locations only. It should not be used in bathrooms, wet rooms, or any location where it may be exposed to moisture or water spray.

What is the methacrylate diffuser?

Methacrylate is a durable, translucent acrylic polymer. The diffuser on the Velas is micro-printed to scatter light evenly along its height, creating a soft ambient glow without visible LED points or hot spots.

What surface does it suit?
