Description

The Varas is a 50cm cylindrical pendant light with an 8cm diameter matt black metal body housing an integrated 5W 3000K LED and an opal acrylic diffuser at the base. The LED sits inside the cylinder and casts light downward through the diffuser, producing a column of directed warm white light beneath the fitting. The pendant is dimmable on compatible trailing-edge dimmers, allowing output to be adjusted from 450lm down to a low ambient glow.

Designed for circulation spaces, reading corners and multiples above kitchen islands or dining tables, the Varas works in rooms with ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3.2m. The drop height is adjustable on installation from 65cm to 140cm minimum-to-maximum, giving flexibility to set the pendant at the right height for the space. The narrow 8cm profile makes it suitable for corridors and alcoves where wider pendants would intrude, and multiples can be arranged in rows or clusters without crowding.

The matt black powder-coat finish absorbs rather than reflects light, giving the fitting a low-key presence in daylight that becomes more defined when the LED is switched on. The opal diffuser softens the LED source and spreads the 450lm output evenly across the lit area below, preventing hotspots. At 0.78kg the Varas is light enough to hang from standard UK ceiling roses without additional support, and the IP20 rating makes it suitable for dry interior spaces only.

Yes. The integrated LED is dimmable on compatible trailing-edge dimmers. Output adjusts from the full 450lm down to a low ambient level. Check your dimmer's LED compatibility before pairing to avoid flicker.

What drop height does it need?

The pendant drop is adjustable from 65cm to 140cm on installation. For kitchen islands or dining tables the fitting typically sits 70-90cm above the surface. In circulation spaces or reading corners the drop can be set higher to avoid head clearance issues.

Can multiples be installed in a row?

Yes. The narrow 8cm diameter makes the Varas suitable for row installations above kitchen islands or long dining tables without the fittings crowding each other. Space multiples 40-60cm apart for even light distribution.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the Varas is for dry interior spaces only and cannot be installed in bathrooms or wet rooms where moisture is present.
