Description
The Varas is a 9-tube LED cluster pendant built around a 42cm circular white canopy with nine slender cylindrical pendants hanging at staggered heights. Each tube houses an integrated LED module, combining for a total 45W output and 4,050 lumens at 3000K. The tubes themselves pair polished chrome sides with matte white end caps and frosted acrylic diffusers at the base, creating a soft downward glow without glare.
Designed for installation above kitchen islands, stairwells, double-height entrance halls and dining tables, the Varas works in spaces with ceiling heights between 2.6m and 3.4m. The drop is adjustable between 50cm and 140cm via the suspension cables during installation, allowing the cluster to be configured as a tight vertical column or a more dispersed cascade depending on the room proportions and desired visual density. The 0-10V dimmable driver is housed within the canopy and pairs with standard UK trailing-edge LED dimmers.
The white and chrome finish suits Scandinavian, coastal and contemporary interiors where a clean monochrome palette is required. At 6.9kg the fitting requires secure ceiling fixing into a joist or ceiling anchor rated for the weight. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor environments, and the Class 1 electrical classification requires an earth connection during wiring. The nine tubes create a vertical sculpture of light rather than a traditional horizontal spread, making the Varas a statement piece in open-plan kitchens and atriums where vertical space is available.

Frequently Asked
Is the Varas dimmable?
Yes. The integrated LED is controlled by a 0-10V driver housed in the canopy, which is compatible with standard UK trailing-edge LED dimmer switches. Check dimmer compatibility before installation to ensure smooth dimming across the full range.
What ceiling height is needed?
The Varas works best in rooms with ceiling heights between 2.6m and 3.4m. The adjustable drop ranges from 50cm to 140cm, so for a kitchen island the pendant typically hangs with the lowest tube 70-80cm above the worktop, requiring a minimum 2.6m ceiling height. Higher ceilings allow the full cascade effect to be appreciated.
Can the tube heights be adjusted individually?
The tubes are pre-set at staggered heights as part of the design. The overall drop can be adjusted during installation by shortening or lengthening the suspension cables, but individual tube positions relative to each other are fixed by the manufacturer.
What fixing is needed for the 6.9kg weight?
The canopy must be fixed into a ceiling joist or a rated ceiling anchor capable of supporting at least 10kg. Plasterboard alone will not hold the weight safely. If you're unsure about your ceiling structure, consult a qualified electrician before installation.
