Description
The Varas is a 25-light cluster pendant built around slender cylindrical LED rods finished in two-tone satin gold and matt black, suspended from a 90cm circular matt black canopy. Each rod houses an integrated LED element that emits warm 3000K light through a frosted acrylic tip, with the 25 rods combined delivering 11,250 lumens from 125W total load. The pendant arrives with a wireless remote control that provides full 0-10V dimming, allowing the output to be adjusted from full brightness down to a low ambient glow.
Designed for double-height entrance halls, stairwells and open-plan living spaces with ceiling heights of 4m or above, the Varas works as both ambient and statement lighting. The 3m maximum drop allows the rods to cascade in a staggered waterfall arrangement, with individual cable lengths adjustable during installation to create either a compressed vertical column or a more dispersed staggered effect. The 90cm canopy diameter suits ceiling roses between 80-100mm and the 28.48kg weight requires secure fixing into joists or a ceiling with adequate load-bearing capacity.
The two-tone finish pairs satin gold on the upper sections of each rod with matt black on the lower sections, creating visual contrast when viewed from below and softening the metallic finish under direct light. The frosted acrylic tips diffuse the LED point source into a broader wash, preventing glare when standing underneath the pendant. The integrated LEDs are rated for approximately 25,000 hours of operation and are not user-replaceable — the entire rod assembly would need professional replacement at end of life.
The wireless remote operates on standard RF protocol and does not require line-of-sight to the canopy receiver. The dimming function uses either 0-10V or PWM protocol depending on the driver firmware, providing smooth transitions without flicker or jump when adjusting brightness. The pendant is rated IP20 for dry indoor use only and carries Class I electrical protection, requiring connection to a mains earth.

Frequently Asked
What ceiling height is required for the Varas?
The pendant has a 3m maximum drop and works best in spaces with ceiling heights of 4m or above. In double-height entrance halls or stairwells with 5-6m ceilings, the full cascade effect is most effective. The individual rod cables are adjustable during installation to compress the overall drop if needed.
How does the remote control work?
The wireless remote uses RF protocol and does not require line-of-sight to the canopy. It provides full 0-10V dimming from 100% output down to a low glow, with smooth transitions between brightness levels. The receiver is housed inside the canopy and powered from the mains connection.
Can the LEDs be replaced?
The integrated LEDs are not user-replaceable. They are rated for approximately 25,000 hours of operation. At end of life, the entire rod assembly would require professional replacement rather than a simple bulb swap.
What fixing is needed for the 28kg weight?
The pendant requires secure fixing into ceiling joists or a reinforced ceiling with adequate load-bearing capacity. Standard plasterboard alone is not sufficient. The canopy includes gravity toggles for secure installation — refer to the assembly instruction PDF for full fixing details.
