Description

The Valmontone is a compact LED wall light shaped as a neat cube, with a black aluminium body 10cm wide, 10cm high and standing 10cm out from the wall. Inside sit two integrated LEDs, each rated at 1.5W and giving 200 lumens, and the light leaves the cube both upward and downward, washing the wall in two soft fans of light. The colour temperature is 3000K, a warm white that feels comfortable in a home. Its IP20 rating settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms, never outside or near water.

With only 10cm of projection, it suits hallways, landings and stairwells, where a deeper wall light would catch a shoulder or a bag. A pair either side of a bed gives a soft glow at night and keeps the bedside table clear, while the twin beams frame a headboard or a picture neatly. In a living room or dining room, a row along one wall builds a calm rhythm of light and shade after dark. Black against pale plaster gives a crisp contrast; against a darker wall the cube itself recedes and the pattern of light does the talking.

Aluminium is a light metal that does not rust, a sensible choice for a compact wall light, and the packed weight is 0.349KG. There is no switch or dimmer on the light itself: it is not dimmable and is switched at the wall, so it works from the switch in the room. It runs on 220-240V mains and carries an energy class of E.
