Description

The Valeris is a 450mm circular alabaster chandelier built from staggered rectangular panels of natural Spanish alabaster, fixed to a brass-finished circular frame and suspended on three slender cables from a matching brass canopy. Ten G9 lamp sockets sit inside the ring, casting light outwards through the stone and downwards through the open base for a combination of ambient glow and direct downlight.

At 140mm tall and 450mm in diameter, the Valeris suits dining tables, kitchen islands, entrance halls and bedroom ceilings where a low-profile circular fitting works better than a tall multi-tier chandelier. The shallow drum form makes it a sensible choice for ceilings of 2.4m and above, and the cable suspension can be shortened on installation to set the fitting 700-800mm above a dining surface or 2.0-2.1m off the floor in a hallway.

Each alabaster panel is cut into a clean rectangular section and fixed to the frame with small brass studs, with the panels arranged in two staggered tiers so the lower edges form an irregular fringe rather than a flat rim. The mineral veining varies from soft ivory through to warmer honeyed striations, and no two panels look the same when lit. The brass-finished metalwork is kept narrow and restrained, letting the layered stone define the silhouette.

The G9 capsule format gives flexibility to specify warm 2700K lamps for dining and bedroom use, or neutral 3000K for kitchen and hallway installations. Ten lamps across a 450mm ring provide enough output for the Valeris to act as the primary light source in rooms up to around 12 square metres.
