Vail 3 Light Pendant White Blown Glass - 42cm

The Vail is a 42cm drum pendant light with three E27 fittings housed inside a white blown glass diffuser that has been acid-etched to create a soft, translucent finish. The glass dome sits within a matt white painted metal frame, creating a layered effect where the frosted glass appears to float inside the outer shell. The pendant is suspended on adjustable steel cables that can be shortened or lengthened during installation to suit ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3m.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and open-plan living areas, the Vail works as a single pendant over a small table or in multiples spaced 80-100cm apart over longer surfaces. The three E27 bulbs (sold separately) sit hidden above the frosted glass, directing their light downward through the diffuser to create an even wash of illumination without visible filaments or bright spots. The IP20 rating limits the Vail to dry indoor spaces only.

The blown glass diffuser is thicker and heavier than pressed or moulded alternatives, giving the pendant a solid 2.1kg weight that minimises movement on the cable in rooms with airflow from doors or windows. The acid-etched finish softens the light output while retaining enough translucency to show the warm glow of the bulbs inside. The matt white metal outer ring provides a clean geometric frame that pairs with minimalist, Scandinavian and contemporary interiors without competing visually with furniture or wall treatments.

Is the Vail dimmable?

Yes, the Vail is dimmable when paired with dimmable E27 bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch. The pendant itself has no electrical components that prevent dimming — compatibility depends on the bulb type and dimmer model you choose.

What bulbs does it take?

The Vail takes three standard E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, sold separately. Most installations use 6-10W LED bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) to provide sufficient light for dining or task areas while keeping energy consumption low.

Can the cable length be adjusted?

Yes. The steel cables are adjustable during installation, allowing the pendant to be set at different heights to suit ceiling clearance and the intended use. Shortening the cables requires trimming and re-terminating, which is typically done by an electrician during fitting.

Can it be installed in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the Vail is not protected against moisture ingress and must only be installed in dry indoor spaces such as living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways. It cannot be used in bathrooms, en-suites or other humid environments.
