Description

The Urban Renewal is a 302mm single pendant light with an antique bronze metal frame surrounding a flat seeded glass shade, housing an E27 bulb fitting that sits exposed below the glass. The bronze finish shows deliberate ageing across the metal, with darker patina collecting around the edges of the shade rim and canopy, giving the piece the appearance of an early 20th-century factory light recovered from decades of use.

Designed for installation over kitchen islands, bar counters, dining tables and commercial hospitality spaces, the pendant provides directed downward light from the exposed bulb while the seeded glass diffuses a softer ambient glow across the shade diameter. The 4.5m cord allows drop adjustment from 147mm minimum to 4647mm maximum on installation, making it suitable for standard 2.4m ceilings through to double-height industrial loft spaces. The cord conceals the cable run and terminates in a matching bronze ceiling canopy.

The seeded glass is produced with small air bubbles and surface texture frozen into the material during casting, creating a rippled appearance when backlit. The bronze metalwork is formed from spun steel with a hand-applied antiqued finish that varies slightly between individual pieces, meaning the patina distribution differs from one pendant to another. The open underside of the shade allows heat dissipation from the bulb and gives the fitting a lighter visual presence than fully enclosed industrial shades. The Urban Renewal takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a vintage filament-style LED bulb between 4-8W and 2200K-2700K to match the industrial aesthetic and the warm tone of the bronze finish.

How is the drop adjusted?

The 4.5m cord is adjusted during installation by cutting to the desired length before wiring into the ceiling canopy. Once installed, the drop is fixed. The minimum drop of 147mm includes the canopy and shade height; the maximum drop of 4647mm allows installation in double-height spaces or loft conversions with exposed roof structures.

Does the seeded glass vary between pieces?
