Description

This is a UFO style bay light: a round black body made to push a lot of light down from a good height. The integrated LED draws 200W and gives 28,000 lumens at 4000K, a neutral cool white that keeps colours honest and edges crisp without turning blue. The spread is wide rather than tight, so a single unit covers a generous patch of floor rather than punching a narrow pool into it. There is no dimming; it runs on a plain switched circuit and comes to full output the moment it is on.

We would reach for this in a workshop, a double garage, a barn conversion or a small warehouse, anywhere the ceiling sits far too high for ordinary battens to do much good. It suits storage bays, gyms, trade counters and packing areas, and it is sealed against dust and water, so grubby or damp air is not a worry. The broad spread makes it simple to plan an even grid across an open floor, and the cool white reads well against concrete, steel and painted block. It is the one we point people to when labels have to be read and fine work seen properly.

Body and cooling fins are black throughout, with the driver built in so there is no separate gear box to find room for. Let it cool and switch it off before any cleaning, then lift dust from the face with a dry cloth and clear the fins with a soft brush; a choked body runs hotter and dimmer than it should. It carries a three year warranty. We stock the same shape with a narrower and a wider beam, in a cooler white, and in a smaller size for lower ceilings, so a mixed building can be lit from one look.

Can I dim it?

No. It is a non-dimmable fitting and should be run from a standard on and off switch.
