The Up Down is a 1220mm diameter ceiling fan light with integrated LED arrays that cast light both upward and downward through diffuser panels at the top and base of a white cylindrical housing. The fan runs on a DC motor housed inside the cylinder, driving three grey composite blades that sit flush against the body when viewed from below. The integrated LED produces 2600lm in uplight mode or 4950lm when both up and down lights are active, with colour temperature adjustable between 2700K warm white and 5000K cool white via remote or smartphone app.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3.6m, the fan suits living rooms, open-plan kitchen-dining areas, bedrooms and home offices where both ambient light and air circulation are needed. The 1220mm blade span moves air across a floor area of approximately 12-20m², depending on ceiling height and room configuration. The DC motor operates more quietly than AC equivalents and draws 80W at full power across both lighting and fan functions. The remote control allows independent dimming, colour temperature adjustment, fan speed selection and directional airflow switching without needing to reach a wall switch.

The white powder-coated finish on the housing and canopy gives a clean visual line against white ceilings, while the grey blades provide subtle tonal contrast when the fan is static. The uplight component bounces indirect illumination off the ceiling to reduce glare and soften shadows, while the downlight directs task-level brightness onto surfaces below. The 360° beam angle from both diffusers distributes light evenly across the room rather than creating a concentrated pool under the fitting. Installation requires a standard ceiling rose connection and a secure ceiling joist or beam capable of supporting the 5.3kg weight of the assembled unit.

Is the fan reversible for winter and summer use?

Yes. The remote control and app allow you to switch the fan direction. In summer mode, the blades push air downward to create a cooling breeze. In winter mode, the blades reverse to draw air upward, circulating warm air that collects at the ceiling back down into the room without creating a direct draught.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 330mm drop from ceiling to base suits rooms with ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3.6m. In lower rooms the blades may feel visually dominant; in higher rooms the airflow effectiveness reduces as the fan sits further from occupants.

Can the light and fan operate independently?

Yes. The remote and app allow independent control of the light (on/off, dimming, colour temperature) and the fan (on/off, speed, direction). You can run the fan without the light, or the light without the fan, or both together.

How is the colour temperature adjusted?

The integrated LED is tuneable between 2700K warm white and 5000K cool white. Adjustment is made via the included remote control or the Mantra app, allowing you to shift the light from warm evening tones to cooler task-focused daylight tones as needed.
