Description

This Maytoni universal ceiling canopy is an 8cm diameter white metal disc designed to conceal wiring and junction points for dual pendant light installations. The canopy provides two cable exit points on its underside, allowing two separate pendant cables to drop from a single ceiling rose. At 2cm tall, it sits flush against the ceiling while providing enough internal space to house standard UK wiring connections.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and bedroom setups where two pendants hang at different heights or positions from the same ceiling point, the canopy replaces the need for two separate ceiling fixings. It fits over a standard UK ceiling rose and the white powder-coated metal finish blends cleanly into white or light-coloured ceilings. The construction is metal throughout, giving it enough rigidity to support the weight of two medium-sized pendant fittings without sagging.

The canopy measures 8cm across, which is large enough to cover a standard ceiling rose and small enough not to dominate the ceiling plane in typical 3-4m rooms. Installation involves wiring the mains supply into a ceiling rose, then feeding two pendant cables through the canopy's exit points before fixing the canopy to the rose with the supplied fixings. The white finish is powder-coated for durability and can be wiped clean if dust accumulates during installation or over time.

Frequently Asked

What ceiling rose does this fit?

The canopy fits over standard UK ceiling roses. The 8cm diameter is large enough to cover typical ceiling rose plates, and the two cable exit points on the underside allow two pendant cables to drop from the same wiring point.

Can it support heavy pendants?

The metal construction supports the weight of two medium-sized pendant fittings. For very heavy pendants (e.g. large multi-arm chandeliers or substantial glass shades), check that the ceiling rose itself is securely fixed to a joist or ceiling batten before relying on the canopy.

Is installation difficult?

Installation requires basic wiring knowledge. The mains supply connects into a ceiling rose as normal, then the two pendant cables feed through the canopy's exit points before the canopy is fixed to the rose. If you're not confident working with mains wiring, hire a qualified electrician.

What other finishes are available?

Maytoni produces this canopy style in multiple finishes. Use the search function or product filters at Niori to find alternative finishes in stock.
