Description

The Unity suspension cable is a single-phase track lighting accessory comprising a white metal ceiling rose, a 200cm adjustable cable, and a white metal track mount plate. It allows single-phase track to be suspended from the ceiling rather than surface-mounted, creating clearance between the track and the ceiling plane for installation over islands, counters, or in rooms where downward-projecting track fittings would otherwise sit too close to the ceiling.

Designed for use with Maytoni Unity single-phase track systems, the suspension cable works in retail, hospitality and residential settings where track needs to be positioned at a specific height below the ceiling. The 200cm cable can be shortened during installation by coiling excess length inside the ceiling rose, allowing the track to be set anywhere from 10cm to 200cm below the ceiling depending on room height and lighting requirements. The track mount plate fixes to the underside of the track rail and the cable feeds through the centre of the plate before terminating at the ceiling rose.

The white powder-coated metal finish on both the ceiling rose and track mount plate matches the white Unity track profile, creating a continuous colour run from ceiling to track. The ceiling rose measures 32mm diameter and 32mm depth, designed to fit flush against standard plasterboard or solid ceilings. Installation requires the ceiling rose to be fixed to a secure ceiling joist or noggin capable of supporting the combined weight of the track, suspension cable, and any track-mounted fittings.

What Unity track system does this work with?

This suspension cable is compatible with Maytoni Unity single-phase track systems only. It will not work with three-phase or two-circuit track profiles.

Can the cable length be adjusted after installation?

The cable can be shortened during installation by coiling excess length inside the ceiling rose. Once installed, the length can be adjusted again by accessing the ceiling rose and re-coiling or releasing cable, but this requires partial disassembly.

What fixing is required at the ceiling?

The ceiling rose must be fixed to a solid ceiling joist, noggin or structural support capable of bearing the weight of the track, suspension cable and all track-mounted fittings. Plasterboard fixings alone are not suitable.

How many suspension cables are needed per track length?

The number of suspension cables depends on track length and the weight of fittings. As a general guide, use one suspension cable per metre of track for standard domestic installations, or consult the Unity track system installation guide for specific load requirements.
