Unity Single Phase Surface-Mounted Track 2m - Black

The Unity is a 2m single-phase track lighting rail manufactured from aluminium and finished in matt black, designed for surface mounting on ceilings or walls. The track accepts compatible single-phase spotlights and pendant adaptors along its full length, allowing lighting to be positioned and repositioned as room layouts change.

Used in residential living rooms, kitchens, home offices, and commercial retail or hospitality environments where lighting needs to be reconfigurable without rewiring. The 2m length supports multiple fixtures in a straight run, or joins with additional Unity track sections to create L-shaped, T-junction or continuous runs across larger spaces. Surface mounting means the track fixes directly to the ceiling or wall surface with no need for recessed installation, making it suitable for solid ceilings, plasterboard and retrofit projects where cutting into the ceiling structure is not viable.

The single-phase design operates on a standard AC 220-240V circuit with one live feed running the length of the track. Each fixture connected to the track shares the same switching circuit, so all lights turn on and off together unless individual fixtures have built-in switches. The aluminium construction keeps the 2m track lightweight at approximately 1kg, and the matt black finish minimises reflections under daylight while blending into dark ceilings or contrasting against white and light-toned surfaces.

What fixtures are compatible with this track?

The Unity track accepts single-phase track spotlights and pendant adaptors designed for single-circuit track systems. Check that the fixture specifies single-phase or single-circuit compatibility — three-phase track fixtures will not fit this rail. Can multiple tracks be joined together?

Yes. The Unity track can be joined end-to-end with straight connectors, or configured into L-shapes and T-junctions using corner and T-junction connectors. These connectors maintain electrical continuity along the joined sections, so all fixtures remain on the same switching circuit.

What does IP20 mean for installation location?

IP20 indicates basic protection against solid objects larger than 12mm but no protection against water ingress. This track is suitable for dry indoor locations only — living rooms, bedrooms, offices, shops. It cannot be used in bathrooms, kitchens directly above sinks or hobs, or outdoor covered areas.

How is the track mounted?

The track surface-mounts to the ceiling or wall using fixings (supplied separately or included depending on kit version — check the manual PDF in the Downloads tab). The track has pre-drilled mounting points along its length. Cable feeds in through an end cap or mid-feed connector depending on installation layout.
