Description

The Unity is a 2m single-phase recessed track in black aluminium, designed to sit flush within plasterboard or other sheet materials. The track accepts single-phase track spotlights (sold separately) that clip directly onto the electrified rail, allowing spots to be positioned, repositioned and angled along the 2000mm run without rewiring.

Designed for retail, gallery, kitchen and living room installations where directional accent lighting is needed without surface-mounted hardware, the Unity sits within a cut channel in the ceiling so only the bottom face of the track remains visible once installed. The 60mm width and 20mm depth accommodate the track body and live rail, with the black finish blending into dark ceilings or providing a discrete linear detail on white plasterwork. The track runs on AC 220-240V and distributes power to compatible track heads along its length.

The aluminium body can be cut to shorter lengths on-site using a hacksaw or mitre saw, allowing the 2m track to be tailored to fit specific ceiling spans or to create multiple shorter runs from a single piece. The matt black powder-coated finish resists fingerprints and minor scuffs during handling and installation. Each track includes end caps and a live feed connector for linking to mains wiring or to additional track sections when creating longer runs.

Frequently Asked

What track lights are compatible with this track?

The Unity accepts single-phase track spotlights designed for recessed track systems. Maytoni produces a range of compatible track heads, and many third-party single-phase track spots will also fit. Check the track head specification to confirm single-phase compatibility before purchase.

Can the track be cut to fit a specific length?

Yes. The aluminium body can be cut to shorter lengths using a standard hacksaw or mitre saw. Cut the track to the required length, then fit the end cap to seal the cut end before installation.

What depth of ceiling void is needed for recessed installation?

The track body is 20mm deep and 60mm wide. A minimum ceiling void depth of 30mm is recommended to accommodate the track, wiring and any fixings. The track sits within a routed or cut channel in the plasterboard, leaving only the bottom face visible.

How is power connected to the track?

The track includes a live feed connector that links to mains wiring via a separate ceiling junction box or directly to a compatible driver. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with BS 7671 wiring regulations.
