Description

The Ugento is an LED outdoor post light with a slim, square-section black body. It rises from a square base plate and then leans forward into an angled head, where a white diffuser runs along its face. The body is aluminium and steel and the diffuser is plastic. It stands 36cm tall, 14.5cm long and 4cm wide, so it sits low among planting rather than towering over it. The LED is integrated and gives 960 lumens of warm white light at 3000K. It is rated IP44, which means it is protected from splashing water, so it can live outdoors in a garden, beside a path or by the front door.

Low post lights earn their keep wherever people walk after dark: along garden steps, at the edge of a patio, beside a drive or lining the route to the door. Because the head is angled and the diffuser faces the ground ahead, the light falls in front of each post, which is exactly where feet need it. We would set one at the side of each flight or every few treads, and the steps then read clearly at night. The warm white tone at 3000K sits comfortably against stone, brick, timber and green planting, and the black body recedes into a border at dusk.

The aluminium and steel body is finished in black and the diffuser is white, so the contrast looks clean in daylight too. It weighs 0.6KG and runs on mains power at 220-240V, 50/60Hz. There is no switch on the post itself: it is switched at the wall, and as a wired-in mains light it is installed by a qualified electrician.
