The Mantra Ufo is a 920mm flush ceiling light moulded from matt white polyethylene in a sculptural organic form with overlapping amorphous segments and an opal white diffuser. Six E27 bulb fittings sit behind the diffuser, giving ambient light across patios, covered terraces, porches and exterior entrances. The IP44 rating protects against water spray from any direction, making it suitable for sheltered outdoor locations where direct rainfall does not reach the fitting.

Designed for covered exterior ceilings with a minimum clearance of 200mm, the Ufo provides even spread light for outdoor dining areas, covered walkways and transitional spaces between indoors and outdoors. The opal diffuser softens the light output from the six bulbs, preventing harsh shadows and reducing glare on seating and table surfaces. The flush-mount design keeps the fitting close to the ceiling, making it suitable for lower-height covered areas where pendant or suspended lights would intrude into headroom.

The matt white polyethylene body is moulded as a single piece with smooth flowing curves that give the fitting a contemporary sculptural presence without sharp angles or fixings visible from below. At 4.5kg the fitting is lightweight compared to metal or glass equivalents of similar size, simplifying ceiling installation on standard exterior ceilings. The 920mm length suits rectangular or linear ceiling zones above dining tables, benches and seating arrangements where a single round fitting would leave dark corners.

The E27 lampholders accept standard Edison screw bulbs, giving flexibility to choose LED, halogen or filament bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) or cool white (4000K-5000K) depending on the atmosphere required. Dimmable bulbs paired with a compatible dimmer allow the light level to be adjusted for different times of evening or different uses of the outdoor space.

What does IP44 mean for outdoor use?

IP44 protects against solid objects over 1mm and water spray from any direction. This makes the Ufo suitable for covered patios, porches and canopies where the fitting is sheltered from direct rainfall. It should not be installed in fully exposed positions where rain falls directly onto the fitting.

Does it come with bulbs?

No. The Ufo takes six E27 bulbs sold separately. Most users pair it with 6-10W LED bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) for outdoor dining and relaxation, or 4000K for task lighting in working outdoor areas.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, provided dimmable E27 bulbs are used and a compatible dimmer switch is installed on the mains circuit. Not all LED bulbs dim smoothly, so check bulb compatibility with your dimmer model before purchase.

How is it fitted to the ceiling?

The Ufo mounts flush to the ceiling via a metal backplate concealed inside the polyethylene body. Standard ceiling fixings and wiring connect to the backplate, then the body clips or screws over the top. A qualified electrician should carry out the installation to ensure IP44 integrity is maintained.
