The Ueda is a decorative bowl in black metal, made as an open geometric frame of wire triangles that rises from a solid round base to a wide, many-sided rim. It measures 30cm across and stands 13cm high, so it is broad and shallow rather than deep, a shape that suits a low, spread-out arrangement more than a tall pile. Because the sides are open, whatever you place inside stays in view from every angle, and the black lines read crisply against a pale worktop or a light wooden table. At 0.39KG it is light enough to lift with one hand.

We think it sits most naturally in a kitchen, a dining room or a living room, on a sideboard, a coffee table or the centre of a dining table.
