Description

The Udine is a 2 light wall light built around a satin chrome frame that holds two frosted white glass shades on opposing curved arms. Each shade houses a G9 capsule bulb (included), and the acid-etched glass diffuses the light output into a soft, even spread across the wall and into the room.

Designed for living rooms, hallways and bedrooms where ambient wall lighting is preferred over overhead fittings, the Udine mounts on a rectangular satin chrome backplate that measures 380mm wide by 270mm tall. The 140mm projection from the wall gives clearance for door frames and tight corridors without the shades protruding too far into the passage. The twin-arm configuration balances light distribution symmetrically, making it suitable as a centrepiece above a sofa, fireplace or console table.

The satin chrome finish is a brushed metal surface that softens reflections compared to polished chrome, pairing well with cooler-toned interiors and contemporary schemes without the high gloss of mirror-polished metal. The frosted glass shades conceal the bulb filament and diffuse the light evenly, so the fitting provides functional illumination without visible glare points. At 1.6kg the fixture has enough weight to sit securely on the wall once the backplate is screwed into the mounting surface.

The Udine is dimmable when paired with dimmable G9 LED or halogen bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch — the fixture itself does not include dimming electronics. The twin G9 sockets accept bulbs up to 40W each, giving a combined maximum load of 80W, though most users pair this with lower-wattage LED equivalents (4-6W per bulb) for energy efficiency and reduced heat output.

What wall surface is needed for mounting?

The backplate fixes to the wall with screws through two mounting holes. A solid wall (brick, block, stud) is required to support the 1.6kg weight. Plasterboard alone will need reinforcement or cavity fixings rated to at least 3kg.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

The Udine does not carry an IP rating, so it is not certified for bathroom zones where moisture or direct water contact is present. It can be used in a hallway or bedroom adjacent to a bathroom without issue.
