Description

This resin wall plaque sets a pair of silver dragons face to face, wings raised high, above a central shield worked with deep scrollwork. Each dragon wraps itself around the edge of the shield, its claws gripping a round opening, and small gold accents on the talons and scales catch the light against the antique silver. Their scaled tails coil together beneath the shield and run down to a pointed tip, giving the piece a tall, heraldic outline. It measures 36cm tall, 21cm wide and 4cm deep, enough to hold its own on a wall without crowding it.

We like it in a hallway, above a desk in a study or on a bedroom wall, anywhere a little myth and legend suits the room. The dark tones worked into the recesses between the scales give it real depth, so the dragons read clearly from across the room as well as up close. Hang it alone on a plain painted wall and let the outline do the work, or group it with other fantasy pieces for a full castle feel. With so much detail to look at, it makes a fine gift as well as a piece for your own walls.

The plaque is made from resin, which holds the fine detail of every horn, scale and wing, and it is finished in a silver metallic effect. The back is plain black, with two keyhole hangers set near the top so it hangs level on a pair of screws. At 4cm deep it sits close to the wall rather than jutting out into the room. To keep it looking its best, dust it now and then with a soft dry brush or cloth, which reaches into the detail without catching on the horns. Hang it at eye level, where the gold accents and the faces of the dragons can be enjoyed up close.
